Practice question · Signs and markings

On Florida roads, what does an orange sign like this one mean?

The rule

Sign colors: red for stop, yield, do not enter and wrong way; white and black for rules; yellow for warnings; orange for road work; green for directions; blue for services and disabled parking; fluorescent yellow-green for school, pedestrian and bicycle warnings; brown for parks and history.

Orange signs warn of construction and maintenance work. Green signs guide you, and brown ones point to parks and historic places.

From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 46. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
