Drive with Flamo

Back to the practice test

Privacy Policy

Draft for review, October 19, 2026

Here's everything we keep, why, and who else sees it. You don't need to give us your name or email to take the free check-up, and we never ask for your name or date of birth.

What we collect

Your answers

Each answer, whether it was right and how long it took. They make your score, your topics, Mistake Replay, your Ready Check and your Test-Day Plan.

Your ID

One first-party cookie with a random ID keeps your progress on this device. Your browser also keeps your place in the check-up or a level in its own storage.

What you tell us

First try or retake, your test date (and time, if you add one) and whether you're under 18. That's the only age question: yes or no, never a date of birth. These shape your plan and how long your practice exams are. We also keep your time zone from your browser, so days left are right, and where you heard about Flamo, if you answer that question.

If you failed before

The retake questions: how many times you've taken the test, what caught you out and your retake date.

Your settings

What you choose in Settings, such as Calm Flamo, larger text, Listen or hiding the streak.

Your email

Only if you give it: to get your plan by email, to buy, or in Settings. We use it to give you access, send your receipt and send the emails below. For signing in we keep only a scrambled copy of each link and code we send.

Payments

You pay on Stripe's or PayPal's own page. From them we keep the payment's reference number, the amount, the date, the email used to pay and whether it went through. We never see your card number. We also keep that you confirmed you're 18 or older and the cardholder.

Where you came from

If you arrive from an ad or a link: its campaign tags (utm tags, and ad click IDs such as Google's gclid), the page that sent you (not your search words) and the page you landed on. We keep these from your first visit and from your latest visit from an ad or link, so we know which ads work. We don't send them to Google or any ad network.

How your test went

If you answer "How did it go?": passed, didn't pass or a new date, any extra answers (how many questions, which language, whether Ready told you the truth) and your Ready status on test day. We use them to check Ready against real results and to choose the next email.

Mistake reports

The question, your reason and any note you write.

Spanish waitlist

Your email, so we can write to you once when a Spanish version exists.

Analytics

Our only analytics tool is our own event log, on our own servers. It records what happens, such as "started the test", "saw the offer", an answer or a finished level, with the time, your random ID, phone or computer, first try or retake, your test date, under 18 or not, which version of a page you saw when we're comparing two, and the campaign tags above.

We don't store your IP address. To stop abuse we keep a scrambled code made from it (a keyed hash) with mistake reports, and for up to 2 days to limit how many requests come from one place.

Read aloud uses the voice built into your phone or browser. We don't receive the text. We only count that read aloud was used.

What we don't do

We don't show ads. We don't use advertising trackers or pixels on any page: our pages only load our own files. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Who sees your information

Us

To run the site, answer you and check our questions.

Stripe and PayPal

They take payments on their own pages. We send them the amount and an order number, and Stripe also gets the email you pay with. What you type on their pages is covered by their own privacy policies.

Resend

Sends our emails, so it gets your email address and each email we send you.

[hosting provider]

Runs our servers and stores our database.

Whoever paid for you

If someone else paid, they get the receipt and, if they bought with an invite code, see whether it was used. They see your Ready Check only if you turn on sharing, and never your answers.

Your share link

If you turn on sharing in Settings, anyone with the link sees your test date and days left, your Ready status, each topic's label and counts, and your practice exam results. Never the questions or your answers. You can turn it off at any time.

Your pay link

If you tick "Let them see my free-test score and weak topics", whoever opens the link sees your free check-up score, your weakest topics and your test date before they pay.

If you're under 18

We collect the same things as from anyone else, listed above, and nothing more. If an adult pays for you, they see only what's under "Who sees your information".

Children under 13

This site is for people getting ready for a California driver's permit, which you can apply for from age 15½. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, email [email] and we'll delete it.

Emails

We keep a copy of each email we send, with sign-in links and codes removed.

Emails about your purchase or your account have no unsubscribe link: receipts, sign-in links and codes, email confirmations, refunds, and notes to whoever paid (their invite code was used, or you shared your Ready Check).

Emails about your plan and your test date have an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and your email app's own unsubscribe button works too. These are:

  • Your plan, if you asked for it by email.
  • Today's plan on study days, if "Email me today's plan" is on in Settings.
  • A short drill or a checklist before your test.
  • "How did it go?" after your test, with one reminder.
  • One email after you tell us whether you passed.

Your choices

Email [email] to see, correct or delete your information. With the Ready Plan you can also change your test date, your email and your settings yourself in Settings. We delete it on request within [period].

When we delete your information, we remove your answers, your progress, your emails, your events and your ID. We keep only the payment record our accounts need (the amount, the dates, the status and the payment company's reference number), with your email and your progress no longer attached. Mistake reports stay, with nothing that links them to you. Stripe, PayPal and Resend keep their own records under their own policies.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your plan is active and for [period] after it ends, then delete it. Free check-up answers with no email attached are deleted after [period].
