Practice question · Safety and the law

A 19-year-old is convicted of reckless driving for the first time. How long is the license suspension?

The rule

If you are under 21, a conviction for hit and run, racing, fleeing police, reckless or aggressive driving, or another offense worth 4 or more points suspends your license for 6 months the first time and 12 months after that.

Under 21, a first conviction for reckless driving, aggressive driving, racing, hit and run or another 4-point offense means a 6-month suspension.

From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 27. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
