What insurance must every Florida car owner have, at a minimum?
The rule
To register a car in Florida you need proof of at least $10,000 in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and $10,000 in Property Damage Liability (PDL), and you must keep that coverage through the whole registration.
Florida's No-Fault Law requires at least $10,000 in Personal Injury Protection and $10,000 in Property Damage Liability.
From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 23. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
