After a DWI conviction, for at least how long must the court order an ignition interlock?

The rule

Courts must order anyone convicted of DWI or Aggravated DWI to install and keep an ignition interlock, at their own expense, on any vehicle they own or drive for at least 12 months.

Courts must order everyone convicted of DWI or Aggravated DWI to put an ignition interlock on any vehicle they own or drive for at least 12 months, at their own cost.

From the New York State Driver's Manual, page 59. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
