After a DUI arrest, how long do you have to request a DMV hearing?

The rule

After a DUI arrest, you have 10 days from the date of the arrest to request a DMV administrative hearing.

You may ask for a DMV administrative hearing within 10 days of a DUI arrest. The temporary license you get lasts 30 days.

From the California Driver Handbook, section 9, page 74. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
