What happens now
- Waiting period
- The handbook sets none, and no limit on how many tries.Source: Handbook, Driver Licenses & ID Cards, page 15
- Fee
- $10 for each written re-test.Source: Handbook, Driver Licenses & ID Cards, page 15
- Where
- A driver license service center or an approved third-party provider. Under 18, online with an approved provider.Source: Handbook, Driving Schools & Test Providers, page 19
What to change before your next try
- Write down what caught you out while you still remember: which topics and which kinds of question.
- Answer questions instead of rereading. Practicing with questions and reading why each wrong answer is wrong helps more than going over the handbook again.
- Check yourself on wordings you haven't seen. The real exam may ask a rule in a different way from any practice test.
- Go over the numbers. Distances, limits, ages and points are easy to mix up. Each topic below has them.
