Practice question · Sharing the road

You can't move over for a tow truck stopped with flashing lights on a road posted at 70 mph. How fast may you pass it?

The rule

Under Florida's Move Over law, if you can't safely leave the lane next to the stopped vehicle, slow to 20 mph below the posted limit. On a two-lane road, slow to 20 mph below the limit.

If you can't move over, slow to 20 mph below the posted limit. On a 70 mph road, that's 50 mph.

From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 65. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
