Tow truckShoulder

A tow truck is stopped on the expressway shoulder with amber lights flashing. What should you do?

The rule

Florida's Move Over law covers stopped law enforcement, emergency, tow, sanitation, utility and road or bridge work vehicles with warning lights, and disabled vehicles showing hazard lights, flares or signs or with people beside them. Leave the lane next to them when you safely can.

For a stopped tow truck, road work truck or emergency vehicle with flashing lights, leave the lane next to it. If you can't move over safely, slow down.

From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 65. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
