Practice question · Speed and conditions

You come to a road covered by floodwater. What does the handbook tell you to do?

The rule

If you reach a flooded road, turn around and take another route: you can't tell how deep the water is or how strong its current is, and the car could be submerged or swept away.

Never try to drive through a flooded road. You can't judge its depth or current, and your car could be swept away. Turn around.

From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 72. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
