The rule
On a conditional or special restricted license, driving alone is allowed between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. (8 p.m. in daylight saving time); later, until midnight, a licensed driver 21 or older must be with you.
With a conditional or special restricted license, solo driving runs from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., or 8 p.m. in daylight saving time.
From the SCDMV Driver's License Manual, page 1-7. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
