South Carolina SCDMV visit checklist
For your knowledge test. Print it, or keep it open on your phone.
Everyone
- Original documents that prove your U.S. citizenship and who you are, your birth date and birthplace, your Social Security number and your South Carolina address. SCDMV form MV-93 lists them.
- Not a U.S. citizen? Use the International Customers' Checklist (SCDMV form MV-94) and a branch that handles international customers.
- Glasses or contacts, if you need them: you take a vision test.
- Nothing that could help you answer: no notes, phone, laptop or tablet in the test area.
- Don't talk to anyone or leave the test room before you finish: either one fails the test.
Under 18, also
- You're at least 15.
- After the permit, plan on 180 days before you can apply for a license.
