What is the most you should drive on an icy road?

The rule

On ice, slow down to 5 mph or less.

Ice is the most slippery of these surfaces. Drive no more than 5 mph. Wet: 5 to 10 slower · Snow: half · Ice: 5 mph max.

From the California Driver Handbook, section 8, page 61. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
