What does this five-sided sign tell you?
The rule
A five-sided (pentagon) sign means you are coming to a school zone or school crossing. It stands 150 to 700 feet before the school grounds or crossing.
A five-sided sign marks a school zone or school crossing ahead. Slow down, watch for children, and stop for any who are crossing.
From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 28. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
