What does this round yellow sign warn you about?

The rule

A round sign warns that a railroad crossing is ahead: slow down, look, listen and be ready to stop. The X-shaped crossbuck stands at every crossing; yield to any train.

A round yellow-and-black sign means a railroad crossing is coming up. Slow down, look and listen, and be ready to stop.

From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 28. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
