What does this round yellow sign warn you about?
The rule
A round sign warns that a railroad crossing is ahead; the X-shaped crossbuck marks the crossing itself.

From the Maryland Driver's Manual, Section 4, page 20. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the MVA have the final word.
