What does this round yellow sign warn you about?
The rule
A round warning sign usually comes before a railroad crossing: slow down, get ready to stop, and never race a train. A white X-shaped crossbuck marks the crossing itself.
A round warning sign means a railroad crossing is coming up. Slow down, look and listen, and be ready to stop.
From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 86. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
