What does a pennant-shaped sign tell you?
The rule
A pennant-shaped sign (a sideways triangle) shows where a no-passing zone begins: don't pass.
A pennant-shaped sign shows where a no-passing zone begins. From there, do not pass other vehicles.
From the Maryland Driver's Manual, Section 4, page 20. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the MVA have the final word.
