On a two-lane highway, which lane must you drive in?
The rule
On a two-lane highway keep to the right lane unless you're passing; with four or more lanes of two-way traffic, use the right lanes unless passing. Florida law requires you to move out of the left lane when a faster vehicle comes up to overtake you.
On a two-lane highway, keep to the right lane. Move left only to overtake and pass where passing is allowed.
From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 48. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
