A pedestrian in a crosswalk ahead is on your half of the road. What does Georgia law require?
The rule
You must stop and stay stopped for a pedestrian in a crosswalk who is on your half of the road, or coming within one lane of it. Your half means every lane going your direction.
When a pedestrian in a crosswalk is on your half of the road, or within one lane of it, stop and stay stopped until they have crossed.
From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 42. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
