What is a curb painted yellow for?
The rule
A yellow painted curb generally means: stop only as long as it takes to load or unload, and stay with your car. You may not park there.
Yellow means loading: stop just for the time loading or unloading takes, and stay with your car.
From the Virginia Driver's Manual, section 2, page 13. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
