Practice question · Signs and markings

You see this orange triangle on the back of a vehicle. What does it mean?

The rule

A reflective orange triangle must be shown on the back of animal-drawn vehicles, most farm vehicles and construction equipment, and on rural mail delivery vehicles. Approach with caution and pass only when it is safe.

A reflective orange triangle is the slow-moving vehicle symbol. Use caution as you come up behind it, and pass only when it is safe.

From the New York State Driver's Manual, page 76. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
