Practice question · Safety and the law

You are 16 with a new license. Which friends may ride with you only if a parent or licensed adult 25 or older comes too?

The rule

With a provisional license, you may not drive passengers under 20 unless your parent or guardian, or a driver with a California license who is 25 or older, rides with you (or you carry a signed note for an allowed reason).

As a provisional driver, you may not carry passengers under 20 unless your parent or guardian, or a California-licensed driver at least 25, is also in the car.

From the California Driver Handbook, section 2, page 4. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
