Practice question · Safety and the law

You're under 18 with a new provisional license. In the first 151 days, which passengers need a supervising driver along?

The rule

Under 18 with a provisional license, for the first 151 days you can't drive without supervision while carrying passengers under 18, unless they're immediate family. With a qualified supervising driver along, you can.

For the first 151 days, driving alone with passengers under 18 is off-limits, unless they are immediate family.

From the Maryland Driver's Manual, Section 9, page 47. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the MVA have the final word.
