Practice question · Safety and the law

Your car stalls on railroad tracks. What should you do?

The rule

If your car has an emergency on or near railroad tracks, get out and move away from the tracks, then report it using the phone number on the crossing's blue and white Emergency Notification System sign.

In an emergency on or near a crossing, get out and move away from the tracks. Then report it using the details on the blue and white ENS sign.

From the Maryland Driver's Manual, Section 5, page 30. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the MVA have the final word.
