You're 19. When may you carry alcohol in a car?
The rule
Under 21, it's illegal to buy alcohol, have someone buy it for you, or possess, carry or transport it unless a parent or guardian is with you. That means a 90-day to one-year suspension; buying or trying to buy brings 180 days.
Under 21, you may not possess, carry or transport alcohol unless a parent or guardian is with you.
From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 74. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
