A school bus ahead is flashing amber lights as it prepares to stop. What must you do?
The rule
In SC, flashing amber lights on a school bus mean stop, just like red: the bus is stopped or about to stop. Amber does not mean you may keep going.
Amber school bus lights count like red ones. Stop when the bus is halted or about to halt and flashing amber or red.
From the SCDMV Driver's License Manual, page 7-8. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
