A train is crossing the road ahead. When may you cross the tracks?
The rule
When a train is crossing, wait until it is well down the track, or until the lights and gates show it is safe, before you cross.
Don't cross until the train has gone far down the track, or the lights and gates show it's safe.
From the SCDMV Driver's License Manual, page 6-7. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
