A school bus ahead starts flashing yellow lights. What does that mean for you?

The rule

Flashing yellow lights mean a school bus is getting ready to stop for children. Slow down, be prepared to stop, and watch for children near the road.

Flashing yellow lights mean the bus is about to stop for children. Slow down and be ready to stop. When the lights turn red, you must stop.

From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 18. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
