School bus: only a median lets oncoming traffic go
A free practice question for the Georgia permit test, with the answer explained.

A school bus is stopped with red lights flashing on the other side of a four-lane road with no median. Must you stop?
The rule
For a stopped school bus with red lights flashing, traffic from both directions stops, even on a four-lane road with no median. Only where a median divides the highway may traffic on the other side keep going, watching for children.
Without a median, everyone stops for a school bus with red lights flashing, even on a four-lane road. Only a median lets oncoming traffic keep going.
From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 18. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
