When may you keep driving past a school bus that's flashing red lights?
The rule
You may skip the stop for a school bus with flashing red lights only when it's across a divided highway that has a barrier between the two directions. On a road with no barrier, both directions stop.
The one exception is a school bus across a divided highway that has a barrier between the directions. Otherwise, stop.
From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 105. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
