Practice question · Right of way

You and another car reach an intersection with no signs or signals at the same time. Who goes first?

The rule

If two vehicles reach an intersection with no signs or signals at the same moment, the driver on the left lets the driver on the right go first.

When you and another vehicle arrive together where no signs or signals control the intersection, the left-hand driver lets the right-hand one go first.

From the Virginia Driver's Manual, section 3, page 16. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
