At an intersection with no STOP or YIELD signs, who has the right of way?
The rule
When vehicles from different directions reach an intersection at different times, the one that got there first goes first.
With no STOP or YIELD signs, whoever reaches the intersection first goes first. If two of you arrive together, the one on the right goes first.
From the Virginia Driver's Manual, section 3, page 16. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
