Practice question · Right of way

At an intersection with no STOP or YIELD signs, who has the right of way?

The rule

At an intersection with no STOP or YIELD signs, whoever gets there first goes first, and other road users wait for that driver.

With no STOP or YIELD signs, whoever reaches the intersection first goes first. If two of you arrive together, the one on the right goes first.

From the California Driver Handbook, section 7, page 39. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
