What range of speed limits do limited-access highways like interstates have?

The rule

Interstates and other limited-access highways are posted at 50 to 65 mph; smaller highways are posted at 55 mph or lower. Never go faster than the posted limit.

Limited-access highways, like interstates, are posted from 50 to 65 mph. Smaller highways are 55 mph or lower.

From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 79. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
