Practice question · Right of way

Your light turns green, but a pedestrian is still crossing in front of you. Who goes first?

The rule

Let people on foot, bicyclists and drivers who are still in the intersection finish first, and yield to anyone stepping into or walking in a crosswalk.

Yield to pedestrians still in the intersection, even when your light is green. Go only after they are safely out of your way.

From the SCDMV Driver's License Manual, page 6-15. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
