Practice question · Right of way

Your light turns green, but a pedestrian is still crossing in front of you. Who has the right of way?

The rule

You must always yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk, and stop and stay stopped for people crossing at a marked crossing or an intersection, even on a green light.

Pedestrians always have the right of way at intersections. On a green light, go only after people crossing are safely out of your way.

From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 45. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
