A person is crossing the street mid-block, not in a crosswalk. What should you do?
The rule
A pedestrian crossing away from a crosswalk must yield to vehicles, but drivers must still do everything they can to avoid hitting a pedestrian.
Away from a crosswalk the pedestrian should yield, but avoiding a crash is still your job. Slow down or stop so they can finish crossing.
From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 88. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
