You're parking facing uphill next to a curb on your right. Which way should you turn your front wheels?
The rule
Parked facing uphill next to a curb, turn your front wheels to the left, away from the curb, so the car can't roll into the street.
Uphill with a curb: turn your wheels left, away from the curb, so the car can't roll into the street. Downhill with a curb: right. No curb: right.
From the Virginia Driver's Manual, section 3, page 22. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
