Practice question · Parking

You're parking facing uphill next to a curb. Which way should you turn your front wheels?

The rule

When you park facing uphill next to a curb, turn your front wheels out, away from the curb and toward the travel lane.

Uphill with a curb: turn your wheels away from the curb, toward the travel lane. Downhill with a curb: toward the curb. No curb: toward the road's edge.

From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 110. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
