Practice question · Parking

You're parking facing downhill next to a curb. Which way should you turn your front wheels?

The rule

When you park facing downhill next to a curb, turn your front wheels in toward the curb.

Downhill with a curb: turn your wheels toward the curb, so the curb stops the car if it rolls. Uphill with a curb: away. No curb: toward the road's edge.

From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 110. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
