You're parking on a hill with no curb. Which way should you turn your front wheels?
The rule
On a hill with no curb, uphill or downhill, turn your front wheels in toward the edge of the road, so a rolling car would leave the road instead of rolling into traffic.
No curb, uphill or downhill: turn your wheels to the right. If the car rolls, it goes off the road, away from traffic. With a curb: downhill toward it, uphill away.
From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 110. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
