You're parking on a hill with no curb. Which way should you turn your front wheels?
The rule
On a hill with no curb, uphill or downhill, turn your front wheels to the right, so that if the car rolls its back end goes away from traffic.
No curb, uphill or downhill: turn your wheels to the right. If the car rolls, it goes away from traffic. With a curb: downhill right, uphill left.
From the Virginia Driver's Manual, section 3, page 22. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
