At an intersection, a person crosses where no crosswalk lines are painted. Must you yield to them?
The rule
Yield to people walking or biking across the street, whether they use a marked crosswalk or cross at an intersection with no markings.
You yield to people crossing in a marked crosswalk and also to people crossing at an unmarked intersection, where no lines are painted.
From the Virginia Driver's Manual, section 3, page 16. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
