You want to turn left at an intersection. An oncoming car is close and going straight. Who goes first?

The rule

Turning left, you give way to oncoming traffic and to people crossing, even when your light is green.

Turning left, you must yield to pedestrians and to any oncoming vehicle close enough to be dangerous. Wait for a safe gap.

From the Official Florida Driver License Handbook, page 51. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
