Practice question · Signals and lights

When should you turn on your signal for a turn?

The rule

Signal every right or left turn, with a continuous signal given for an adequate distance before you turn. Don't decide to turn at the last minute, and never flash your signal as a courtesy to tell drivers behind to pass.

Give a continuous signal for an adequate distance before every turn, so drivers, bike riders and pedestrians know what you plan to do.

From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 19. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
