You drive out of the side road at a T intersection and crash with a car on the through road. Who is at fault?
The rule
If you crash at a T intersection after entering from the side road, the crash counts as your fault under the standards of fault. Coming from the side road, let the through traffic go.
A crash at a T intersection where you entered from the side road is one of the standards of fault: it counts as your at-fault crash.
From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 60. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
