Practice question · Alcohol and drugs

Can a medicine your doctor gave you get you convicted of impaired driving?

The rule

A low BAC plus drugs, even prescription or over-the-counter medicines, can still lead to an impaired-driving conviction. A drug DUI counts the same as a DUI or DUAC conviction.

Prescription and over-the-counter drugs can impair you. A low BAC plus drugs can still bring an impaired-driving conviction.

From the SCDMV Driver's License Manual, pages 3-7 and 3-9. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
