Practice question · Lanes and turns

Before changing lanes, what should you do after checking your mirrors?

The rule

To change lanes: check your mirrors, turn your head to check the blind spot over your shoulder, find a gap, signal, and look again before you steer over.

Check your mirrors, then turn your head and look over your shoulder toward the lane you want. Mirrors don't show your blind spots.

From the SCDMV Driver's License Manual, page 7-14. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DMV have the final word.
