Before changing lanes, what should you do after checking your mirrors?
The rule
Before changing lanes, signal, check your mirrors, and turn your head to look at your blind spot. Always make a visual check of the traffic around you before you move over.
Signal, check your mirrors, then turn your head toward the lane you want. Mirrors don't show your blind spots.
From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 18. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
